Prime Timersof the Desert

Community

Get involved

This club is made entirely by its members. Nobody is paid, there is no office, and everything on the calendar exists because somebody decided it should.

Ways to pitch in

Host something

A coffee, a lunch, a film night, six people around your table. Tell an officer the date and we will put it on the calendar and spread the word.

Give someone a lift

Not everybody drives any more, and it should not be the reason somebody misses out. Let us know which part of the valley you are in.

Make a phone call

We keep an eye on members who have gone quiet. A five-minute call matters more than you would think.

Lend a skill

Photographs, the newsletter, the front door at bigger events, keeping the books. Small jobs, real difference.

Greet the new faces

If you remember your own first event, you already know how to do this one.

Stand for office

Officers are elected each year. The work is manageable and the handover is thorough.

Interest groups

Smaller circles inside the club

Alongside the main calendar, members run smaller groups that meet on their own schedule. They come and go depending on who is keen.

Start one if what you want is not here. Two people and a regular date is all it takes.

Beyond the club

Out in the valley

We turn up together at Pride, at community fundraisers, and at events run by other groups across the desert. Watch the calendar, or ask an officer what is coming.

One conversation

Have an idea? Tell an officer.

Most of what happens here started with somebody saying "we should do this." That is the whole process.
